Sand and Stone Fest will be returning to Folkestone again this summer after selling out in 2023. We aim to put on a fun, unique opportunity to learn something new, meet likeminded people and listen to live music here in Kent. This year we will be offering more daytime activities, including boardsports, bushcraft and yoga. Ticket holders will be able to attend all daytime activities and the live music event in the evening.

live music

We are excited to announce three live acts for this years’ line-up. Kicking off the evening is local folk/country singer-songwriter Nick Lawrence, accompanied by his good friend Lorelei Park-Morley on the violin. For our second act, we are thrilled that Thomas Ashby will be returning to his home county of Kent to perform. With a timeless sound that pulls from folk and blues, Tom interweaves influences from Radiohead, Neil Young, John Martyn and Nina Simone into his music. The final act of the evening will be festival hosts, folk/rock duo Sand and Stone. You can expect a high energy performance including songs from their recent album ‘From Trees to Seas’, alongside some old favourites and new material which will soon be released on their upcoming EP.

The show will be held at F51 in Folkestone. Doors at 7pm with the live music starting at 7:30pm.

Boardsports

New for this year, Sand and Stone Fest tickets holders can get involved in a variety of boardsports sessions in Folkestone. There will be an open session from 4-6pm at F51, the world’s first purpose-built, multi-storey skate park. This is open to all ages and abilities, and any protective gear and skateboards can be hired from F51 if you don’t have your own. Ticket holders also have the opportunity to test their sea legs with free paddle boarding at Folkestone Sea Sports.

bushcraft

Learn how to make a fire under a canopy of beech trees in King’s Wood near Challock. This introductory bushcraft skills session is open to all ages; you will learn to create fires, use axes/knives and make s’mores with bushcraft instructor Tom from Sand and Stone. There will be three 1-hr sessions available starting at 10:00, 11:30 & 14:00.

beach Yoga

Start your weekend well and join local yoga instructor Kate for a morning of Hatha Yoga with sandy toes. Kate will be running three sessions at Sunny Sands Beach in Folkestone starting at 08:00, 09:00 & 10:00. These sessions are open to all, so if you are new to Yoga or an experienced Yogi come and stretch with Kate, those that are brave enough can also jump into the sea afterwards!
